Allegiant Air Military Baggage Policy and Discounts
Allegiant Airlines offers special baggage allowances to US Active and Reserve Duty Military and Military Veterans. These benefits apply to active duty, reserve duty, and veteran members of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps., Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service Commissioned Corps., and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Officer Corps., with valid identification. Spouses and dependents with a valid military dependent ID stating their dependent or marital status will qualify for the same benefits only if traveling on the same itinerary with the eligible military traveler.
Allegiant Air Military Baggage Allowance Benefits
Allegiant Air allows US Military members and their dependents up to 2 checked bags each, free of charge. Each bag may weigh up to a maximum of 100 lbs / 45 kg, with a maximum size of 115 linear inches (Length + Width + Height). You are also entitled to 1 free carry-on bag and 1 free personal item, within the regular Allegiant Air size limits. US Military members may also bring 1 pet in the cabin free of charge - be sure to contact Allegiant Air directly to confirm before your flight.
Qualifying service members and their families will be called to board early at the gate.
To receive these benefits when flying with Allegiant, you will be asked to show one of the following proofs that you are a member of one of the seven uniformed services:
DOD Common Access Card (CAC)
Uniformed Services ID Card or driver’s license with a veteran designation on it at the airport during check-in.
DD Form 214
DD Form 2
DD Form 2765
DD Form 1173-1 (dependents only if traveling with military honoree)
Veteran ID card
If you have already prepaid for one of these services that are included for military members, please contact the Allegiant Air call centre to receive a credit for those fees after your ID has been confirmed at the airport.
