Carry On Size & Weight - Checked Bag Fee

As a low-cost airline, the cheapest "Basic" fare on Eurowings does not include any free hand luggage allowance, only a small cabin bag that must go under the seat in front of you. The bag is limited to 40 x 30 x 25 cm. You may purchase a larger "standard" carry-on bag (55 x 40 x 23 cm) allowance for 19 EUR / 16 GBP.

The Eurowings Smart fare includes both a small cabin bag of 40 x 30 x 25 cm, as well as a larger standard-sized carry-on bag allowance. The larger bag is limited to 55 x 40 x 23 cm.

The BIZClass fare includes the smaller underseat cabin bag of 40 x 30 x 25 cm, plus 2x larger carry-on bags of 55 x 40 x 23 cm each.

Eurowings has three fare classes, each with different checked baggage allowances.

Eurowings BASIC Fare Baggage Allowance
The BASIC fare does not allow for any free checked luggage. You may choose to purchase a lighter 12 kg checked bag allowance starting at 12 EUR (price depends on route), or a standard checked-in suitcase with 23 kg / 50 lbs allowance starting at 17 EUR. Heavier bags, weighing between 23-32 kg, are more expensive, with prices for a 1st checked bag from 67 EUR depending on the route.

Eurowings SMART Fare Baggage Allowance
Your first bag of 23kg/50lbs is included in the Smart fare class. Second and additional pieces can be purchased online beginning at a price of 75 EUR per bag.

You may bring up to a maximum of 5 pieces of checked baggage.

Eurowings BIZclass Fare Baggage Allowance
Two free bags of 32kg/70lbs are included in the BIZ Class fare class. You also get a reserved compartment for your carry-on baggage so you know there will be space to stow your carry-on items. 2 carry-on items are included in the BEST Fare option.
