Avelo Airlines Carry On 2023 - Cabin Bag Size & Weight Limit

Avelo Airlines allows one small carry-on personal item free of charge. You'll be limited in size to 35 x 22 x 24cm (14 x 9 x 9.5 inches), that must fit under the seat in front of you.

If you would like to bring standard a carry-on bag (56 x 35 x 22 cm / 22 x 14 x 9 inches), you'll be charged a fee of $40-45 when making your reservation, $60 if adding it after making the original booking, or $65 at the airport (effective July 28 2023. This carry-on bag is limited in weight to 35 lbs (15 kg). The cost of a carry-on suitcase on Avelo flights has increased by about $20 over the last year.

It is the same price to pay for checked baggage on Avelo Airlines as it is to pay the carry-on fee, and you will have a much higher weight allowance, so unless you really need to have those items accessible to you during your flight, we recommend checking in your baggage to have a higher weight allowance for your bags.

Avelo Airlines Checked Baggage Fees 2023 - Checked Bag Weight & Size Limits

Avelo Airlines encourages you to check in your baggage rather than bringing it as carry-on, so the checked baggage fees are the same as the carry-on baggage fees. Please note the new updated checked baggage fees that Avelo has increased for 2023.

Every checked bag will cost you between $40-$45 (depending on the origin/destination of your flight) when added the time of making your booking. If paying for your bag later, either adding it to your reservation later or during online check-in, will now cost you $60 (previously $45), or $65 (previously $50) if paying your bag at the airport.

The good news is that if travelling with a lot of luggage, you may add up to 10 checked bags on Avelo Airlines, and each bag is charged the same fee, unlike other airlines that increase the cost of each additional piece of luggage.

All checked luggage is limited in weight to 50 lbs / 23 kg, with standard size limits of 62 linear inches (L+W+H).

Avelo Airlines Overweight Baggage Fee 2023 - Extra Bag Fee - Oversize Baggage

Avelo Airlines has increased its overweight and oversize luggage fees for 2023. If a bag exceeds the weight limit on Avelo Airlines, an overweight fee of $100 (up from $50) is charged. The maximum weight allowed is 70 lbs / 32 kg.

Oversize bags, up to a maximum of 80 linear inches (l + w + h), are also now charged a $100 oversize fee in 2023 (up from $50 last year).

If your bag is both overweight and oversize, both fees will be charged, so it will now cost you $200.

Keep in mind that with Avelo Airlines it is cheaper to bring two checked bags that fit within the 23 kg / 50 lbs limit, than a single bag paying the overweight fee.
