Alaska Airlines allows Active Duty US Military Personnel traveling on orders may bring up to 5 checked bags free of charge. Each bag may weigh up to 70 lbs (32 kg), and up to 115 linear inches (length + width + height). Additional bags (beyond the 5th bag) will cost $100 USD each.

Traveling on an official excused absence
Discharged from active duty military service in any one of the US military agencies (Discharged military personnel must complete all travel within 7 days of discharge.)
Military reserves on active duty
Spouse/dependents 10 or older with dependent ID
Children (aged 2-9) of active duty US military personnel
Discounted fares for Military personnel and veterans on Alaska Airlines are also available through VeteransAdvantage.
Additional benefits offered by Alaska Airlines for US Military Personnel include Alaska Lounge access when travelling on orders, early boarding at the gate, and discounts on snacks on board the flight (show Military ID to flight attendant for discount).
