Allegiant Air Car Seat and Stroller Policy

Flying with a Car Seat on Allegiant Air

Allegiant Air accepts your child's car seat as a piece of checked luggage, and they will accept to transport it free of charge.  You may choose to either drop off your car seat at the check-in counter together with your regular suitcases, or bring it with you to the boarding gate and "gate-check" the car seat when boarding the aircraft.

We recommend gate-checking the car seat to minimize the chance it gets lost or damaged in transit, to ensure you have it when you arrive at your destination.  It is best to place your car seat in a brightly colored "gate-check" car seat protective cover to keep it from getting stained, torn, or damaged when bring placed into the cargo hold, and to catch the baggage handler's eye so that it doesn't get left behind at the gate or in the cargo hold of the aircraft. Using a Car Seat on Allegiant Air

The FAA and Allegiant Air recommend that an FAA-approved car seat be used for children weighing less than 40 lbs. when flying.  Young babies flying on a parent's lap will not have their own assigned seat, so you will not be able to bring a car seat into the cabin for them.  As such, it is recommended to purchase an individual ticket for your baby to fly, allowing them to have an assigned seat onto which you can install the car seat for your flight.

Your car seat must meet FAA standards and regulations for use in an aircraft, and must be labeled as "This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft", or approved by a foreign government and bears the required label or marking.  Without meeting the proper labeling requirements, your car seat will not be allowed to be used on the aircraft, and will be placed into the cargo hold.

Bringing a Child Stroller on Allegiant Air

Allegiant Air allows your child's stroller to be checked-in free of charge.  You may choose to either drop it off together with your suitcases at the check-in desk, or use it through the airport and "gate-check" your stroller when boarding your flight.

We recommend protecting your stroller by placing it into a protective travel cover, as it will minimize the chance of a wheel or other part of the stroller getting caught up and torn off while in transit.
