Air Niugini Baggage Fees 2011
Carry On Size & Weight - Checked Bag Fee

Cabin baggage is limited to 5kgs (11lbs) per person.

On Air Niugini International and Domestic Flights each passenger may carry, in addition to the free allowance, the undermentioned articles only when retained in the passengers' custody, except items and that may be carried in the passenger baggage and cargo compartments of the aircraft.

A lady's handbag, lady's pocket book or lady's purse which is appropriate to normal travelling dress and is not being used as a container for the transportation of articles that would otherwise be regarded as baggage;
An overcoat, wrap or blanket;
A small camera or pair of binoculars;
A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight;
Infant's food for consumption on flight;
Infant's basket, and
A fully collapsible invalid's wheelchair and braces or other prosthetic device for the passengers use; provided that the passenger is dependent upon them.

Any item that purports to be a specified article listed above, but does not visibly conform to the description set out must be weighed and such weight included in the total baggage weight.

All other articles including overnight bags, briefcase, typewriter, personal radios, ladies vanity or cosmetic cases, hat boxes, infant collapsible pram, wheelchairs, heavy cameras and reading matter which cannot reasonably be read during the flight, must be weighed with the baggage and subjected to normal rules.

International flights - Business Class: 30kgs (66lbs) per person, Economy Class: 20kgs (44lbs) per person

Domestic flights - Business Class: 20kgs per person, Economy Class: 16kgs per person

To/From USA - 2 pieces (the sum of the three dimensions, shall not exceed 158cm (62 in) per piece. Weight Allowance: 32Kgs (70lbs) each piece.

*Note: Infants - Under 2 years of age for Papua New Guinea domestic and international travel.

Allowance for Scuba Divers
Air Niugini offers the following baggage allowance for scuba divers;
International flights - 20kgs (44lbs) plus an additional 15kgs (33lbs) per person
Domestic flights - 16kgs (35lbs) plus an additional 15kgs (33lbs) per person
Air Niugini honours the International allowance for International passengers in direct transit on same day to a domestic port in PNG.
