Carry On Size & Weight - Checked Bag Fee

Passengers on Eastern Airlines may bring 1 piece of carry-on baggage, plus 1 personal item.

The carry-on bag must not exceed 22 pounds / 10 kilograms, with size limited to 9” x 14” x 22” / 23 cm x 36 cm x 56 cm.

The personal item may be something like a purse, briefcase, laptop computer case, backpack, or small camera.

Oversized Carry-On Items
Oversized articles of reasonable carry-on size that protrude from only one side of the sizing box and, because of their fragile nature, would be at greater than normal risk of damage if carried in the cargo hold (e.g., small musical instruments, blueprints, map tubes, fishing poles, artwork, media cameras/video equipment) are considered personal-type items and may be carried in the Passenger cabin if remaining onboard space permits and the item fits in an overhead bin without depriving other Passengers of sufficient overhead bin space.

Eastern Airlines allows 1 Free checked bag for Economy passengers - one of the few airlines in the US that still offer this perk. The weight of the bag is limited to 32 kg / 70 lbs, more generous than the standard 23 kg / 50 lbs limit of most airlines. The size limitations are also more generous, allowing up to a maximum of 80 linear inches (203 cm) without an oversize fee.

Eastern Airlines 2nd bag fee remains untouched for 2023 - A second bag will now cost $65 USD. 3rd and 4th bags will cost you $100 each. The 5th and 6th bags have gotten more expensive in 2023, you can take a 5th and 6th bag on Eastern Airlines for $200 each (previously $120).
