Air France Checked Baggage Fees 2023 - Checked Bag Weight & Size Limits

New Air France baggage regulations have simplified the baggage allowances for most flights, however there are still exceptions and special rules based on some departure and destination airports.

You must pay a fee for all checked baggage. If you would like to check a baggage item, you can purchase a Baggage Option online. If you are a Flying Blue Elite/Elite Plus member, you can transport one baggage item weighing up to 23 kg / 50 lb.

The same applies for if you buy an Economy Light or Basic ticket. You will not have any free checked baggage allowance in this case. If you would like to fly with baggage, it is highly recommended to buy an additional allowance on the Air France website, as it will be much cheaper (up to 60% less) than paying at the airport.

For most flights, the following policies apply, based on fare class:
Economy: 1x 23kg/50lbs bag
Economy + Flying Blue: 2x 23kg/50lbs bags

Premium Economy: 2x 23kg/50lbs bags
Premium Economy + Flying Blue: 3x 23kg/50lbs bags

Business: 2x 32kg/70lbs bags
Business + Flying Blue: 3x 32kg/70lbs bags

La Premiere: 3x 32kg/70lbs bags
La Premiere + Flying Blue: 4x 32kg/70lbs bags

Flying Blue = * For Flying Blue Silver, Gold and Platinum members, as well as Elite and Elite Plus members.

Dimensions: your baggage items must not exceed 158 cm / 62 in (height + length + width) each.

Be sure to confirm your baggage allowances for your specific flights using the Air France Baggage Calculator page.
