Flying with a Wedding Dress on Breeze Airways

Bringing a Wedding Dress into the Cabin on Breeze Airways

You may bring your wedding dress into the cabin with Breeze Airways, and it will count as your carry-on item.  Keep in mind that not all fares on Breeze include a carry-on item, so if you are flying with the simple/cheapest "Nice" fare, it will cost you around $35 ($50 at the airport) to bring your dress as a "carry-on" item.

You can either get your dress professionally packed into a standard carry-on size suitcase (max dimensions are 22 x 14 x 10 inches), or bring your dress in a garment bag that you can lay out flat on top of other suitcases in the overhead bin.  Breeze Airways does NOT have a closet to hang your dress if it is in a garment bag. We always recommend bringing your wedding dress with you into the cabin, and not packing it into a checked suitcase, so that you don't risk getting it lost in transit before your wedding day.  It is also a good idea to pack your shoes, jewellery, and other essentials into your cabin bag, and not into your checked luggage, just to be safe.

Purchasing an Extra Seat for your Wedding Dress on Breeze Airways

You may choose to purchase an extra seat for your wedding dress when flying on Breeze Airways.  You can do so while making your original reservation by adding an extra passenger when making your booking.  When filling out the passenger's information during the purchase, you can purchase your regular seat by filling out the information as normal, and for the extra seat be sure to add "EXST" in the Last Name field - for example:

Passenger 1: Jane Smith

Passenger 2: Jane SmithEXST

Keep in mind that your wedding dress will have to placed on the seat and secured with the seat belt. Depending on the size of the dress, even with an extra seat purchased, some flight attendants may require you to place your wedding dress into the overhead bin for take-off and landing, which defeats the purpose of purchasing an extra seat for your wedding dress.

Bringing a Fabric Steamer on Breeze Airways

Once you arrive at your destination, your dress is bound to be wrinkled.  We recommend packing a hand-held fabric steamer into your carry-on (if there is no liquid inside) or checked bag, to be able to steam your dress upon arrival to get rid of the wrinkles before your big day.

Flying with a Bridesmaid Dress on Breeze Airways

You may pack a bridesmaid dress into your carry-on bag on Breeze Airways if it is packed into a suitcase less than 22 x 14 x 10 inches.  Keep in mind that this will count as your carry-on suitcase, for which you may need to pay extra if not included in your ticket (typically $35 online, or $50 at the airport).  We also recommend packing your shoes and jewellery into this carry-on bag.

Alternatively, you can bring your bridesmaid dress in a garment bag as long as it can roll/fold into the carry-on size dimensions - you can either place it rolled up into the overhead bin, or lay it out flat on top of the other suitcases.
