Breeze Airways Wheelchair Policy and Special Assistance Guide

Flying With your Wheelchair on Breeze Airways

Plan to arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes prior to your departure time, as Breeze requires you to check in at your departure gate at least 45 minutes prior to departure. Breeze will accommodate one manual wheelchair onboard on a first-come, first-serve basis, as long as there is space available. All other wheelchairs, manual or electric, will be gate checked and returned to you at your destination.

Wheelchair Size Limits on Breeze Airways

The cargo door of the aircraft is 35” x 43”, and Breeze Airways is able to accommodate mobility aids which will fit through this opening. If the wheelchair must be disassembled in order to pass through the opening, Breeze will take care of reassembly at your destination.  [AMZ asins='B07YNFD9LJ,B01L28ANI2,B074MW1MTW,B00RKJUPS6']

Battery Operated Mobility Aids on Breeze Airways

All cables must be disconnected, with the battery disconnected and contained in a leak-proof box, which itself must be secured to the wheelchair or scooter. Battery terminals must also be protected against electrical shorting. If the electric wheelchair cannot be loaded and stowed in an upright manner, it may be necessary to remove the battery from the device to avoid leaks.

Requesting Wheelchair Assistance at the Airport when Flying with Breeze Airways

When you arrive at the airport for your flight with Breeze Airways, notify a Breeze team member that you require assistance. If you require assistance from your vehicle, Breeze requires you to send a companion to the ticket counter in order to request assistance. Once inside the airport, Breeze Airways employees will provide support up to and including the boarding process.

Other Mobility Aids (Canes, Crutches, Walkers) on Breeze Airways

All other mobility aids such as canes, crutches, and walkers, are allowed on Breeze Airways flights free of charge. Canes, crutches, and walkers must either be folded and stowed in the overhead bins according to safety regulations or will be gate-checked and returned to you at your destination.
