Flying with a Wedding Dress on JetBlue

Bringing a Wedding Dress in Your Carry-On on JetBlue

JetBlue does not make any special allowances for bringing your wedding dress into the cabin - there are no on-board lockers or closets, and your dress must fit within the standard carry-on luggage size allowances in order to be allowed on-board.

Your best bet is to securely pack your dress into a standard-sized carry-on suitcase, and pop it into the overhead locker once on board. A standard carry-on bag is limited in size to 22 x 14 x 9 inches - keep in mind that this is the larger "Carry-On Bag", not your "Personal Item".  The cheapest "Blue Basic" JetBlue fares do not include a standard carry-on bag, only a small personal item (17 x 13 x 8 inches), into which your dress is unlikely to fit.  If flying with your dress, make sure to purchase either a Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, or Mint fare, in order to be allowed to bring a carry-on bag. We recommend bringing your shoes and jewellery in your carry-on as well, to not risk them getting lost if in your checked luggage.  Similarly, we recommend to never pack your wedding dress into a checked suitcase - the last thing you want is for your dress to be lost in transit before your big day.

Packing a Clothes Steamer in your Carry-On Bag on JetBlue

Your dress is bound to arrive wrinkled after being transported in a carry-on bag - it is a good idea to pack a steamer with you to get rid of the wrinkles once you arrive at your destination. You can bring a steamer in your carry-on bag as long as there is no liquid inside, otherwise it will not be allowed through security.  You are also allowed to pack a steamer into your standard checked luggage.

Flying with a Bridesmaid Dress on JetBlue

Similar to a wedding dress, JetBlue does not make any special allowances for wedding attire such as suits or bridesmaid dresses.  It is best to pack your dress into a carry-on bag and bring it with you onto the plane, so as not to risk your suitcase getting lost in transit and not having your bridesmaid dress arrive at the destination.  Similarly, pack your shoes and jewellery into your carry-on bag as well.

When flying with a bridesmaid dress on JetBlue, make sure not to be flying on the cheapest Blue Basic fare, which does not allow a carry-on suitcase - you will have to fly either Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, or Mint to be allowed a carry-on baggage suitcase.  We also recommend packing a hand-held steamer with you into your carry-on to get rid of wrinkles at your destination before the wedding day.
