Bringing a Wedding Dress into the Cabin on Alaska Airlines
You can bring your wedding dress into the cabin as your Carry-On Item when flying with Alaska Airlines to your destination wedding. Pack your dress safely into a travel garment bag and bring it with you onto the plane.
When boarding the aircraft, you can ask the Alaska Airlines flight attendant to place your dress into a jacket closet that is located in the front of some airplanes.

If your wedding dress cannot be placed into a closet because the plane doesn't have one or the closet is full, don't panic. You can wait until the overhead lockers are full, and simply lay your dress out flat on top of the suitcases in the overhead bin. You can also gently fold or roll your garment bag with the wedding dress and place it into the overhead bin.
We definitely do NOT recommend packing your wedding dress into your checked baggage. Although rare, suitcases do get misplaced, and the last thing you want is for your dress not to arrive in time for your big day.
Bringing a Garment Steamer on Alaska Airlines
Your dress is likely to arrive a bit wrinkled, and we recommend packing a garment steamer to get the wrinkles out before the wedding day. You can pack a travel-sized hand-held garment steamer into your carry-on luggage as long as there is no liquid inside - otherwise, you won't be able to bring it through security. You can also pack a steamer into a regular checked suitcase.
Flying with a Bridesmaid Dress on Alaska Airlines
Similar to a wedding dress, it is recommended to bring your bridesmaid dress into the cabin with you when flying on Alaska Airlines - do not pack it into your regular checked luggage suitcase. Either safely pack your dress into a standard carry-on sized suitcase, or bring it in a garment bag and lay it on top of the suitcases once the overhead lockers are ready to be closed.
