Babies Under 2 Years Old Fly Free on Hawaiian Airlines Domestic Flights
Babies less than 2 years old may fly for free on a parent's lap as a Lap Infant on Hawaiian Airlines domestic flights, both between neighboring islands and to/from the US mainland. A maximum of 1 lap child is permitted per adult (at least 15 years old), and additional infants will have to fly with their own ticket in their own assigned seat.
Lap Infants may fly free of charge on Hawiian Airlines, but they will need to be added to your reservation ahead of time. Please contact Hawaiian Airlines Reservations at 1-800-367-5320 to add an infant as a lap child to your reservation.

Your infant flying on an adult's lap will not have their own assigned seat, and you will most likely not be allowed to use a car seat during the flight (except if there happens to be an empty seat available on your flight). The only way to guarantee that your child flies in their own seat and be able to use a child car seat is to purchase a separate ticket for your baby. The cost of a regular ticket for infants and children on Hawaiian Airlines domestic flights is the full adult fare.
Discounted Fares for Infants Under 2 Years Old on Hawaiian Airlines International Flights
Young infants and babies less than 2 years old may fly on an adult's lap on Hawaiian Airlines international flights, but will incur a charge of 10% of the adult base fare, plus applicable taxes and fees. Please keep in mind that this is the fare for flying on an adult's lap - your child will not have their own assigned seat, and will not receive any additional checked or carry-on baggage allowance.
You may also choose to purchase a seat for your baby on international flights at a discounted rate of 75% of the adult published fare, plus taxes and fees (67% of the adult fare on flights between Pago Pago/Papeete and North America). These rates apply only for infants less than 2 years old, when flying together with an adult in the same class. To purchase an infant fare, please contact Hawaiian Airlines reservations at 1-800-367-5320, because the infant fare on international flights is not available online.
Discounted Fares for Children Over 2 Years Old On Hawaiian Airlines
All children 2 years of age or older on Hawaiian Airlines must fly in their own seat, with their own purchased ticket, and are not allowed to fly on a parent's lap. This includes the day of the child's 2nd birthday.
Hawaiian Airlines may offer discounted children's fares on some international flights for young children between the ages of 2-11 years old. On flights to/from Pago Pago, the child's fare for kids aged 2-11 years old is 67% of the adult published fare, plus taxes and fees. Please contact Hawaiian Airlines Reservations at 1-800-367-5320, as some discounted child fares may not be available online.
For children flying between neighboring islands or to/from the mainland, there is no child discount available and the full adult fare applies for all children 2 years of age or older.
If you have purchased your child's ticket separately from that of the adults in your reservation, with a different confirmation code, please contact Hawaiian Airlines Reservations so that your reservations may be linked together, otherwise the seating system will not know they are members of the same family and you will be seated separately. The system will try to seat you together as a family, or you may asked to be reseated when arriving at the airport, and the Hawaiian Airlines agent will try their best to help you. The most reliable way to be seated together as a family is to pre-select your seats (a fee may apply) as early as possible when making your reservation.
