JetBlue no longer operates with its policy "First Bag is Always Free". JetBlue now charges for all checked bags, including the first checked bag, on its lowest priced fares.
Please note the increased baggage fees for 2023, as outlined below. JetBlue's 1st Bag Fee remains the same, but the price of a 2nd bag has jumped up from $45 to $60. There is a $5 discount for your first bag if adding it online ($10 off for the 2nd bag if adding online) more than 24 hours before your flight, otherwise you will be charged the fees below when paying at the airport or less than 24 hours before departure. All checked bags must not exceed 62" (157.48 cm) in overall dimensions (length + width + height) and cannot exceed 50 pounds (22.73 kg).
Please note: boxes will not be accepted as checked baggage on international flights, except to/from Cuba.
Bags that do not meet the dimensions and/or weight restrictions are considered oversized and/or overweight and will be charged as follows:
51 lbs (23.13 kg) – 99 lbs (44.91 kg) – $150 per bag.
63" in (160 cm) – 80 in (203.3 cm) – $150 per bag.
Please note that a golf bag, fishing rod, skimboard, skis or snowboard counts as one checked bag and can be added to your booking at any time. While it is subject to any checked bag fees for the fare purchased, it will not incur additional or oversized bag fees (as long as it’s within weight limits).

Please note that customers are limited to 2 checked bags. Each bag cannot exceed 62 inches (linear dimensions) and cannot exceed 70 lbs (32 kg). Overweight bag fees will apply to bags weighing over 50 pounds (22.73 kg).
JetBlue Baggage Rules on Flights to/from Cuba
During the winter peak period (November 16 - January 15) customers may not check in more than two (2) bags and may not check ANY boxes/plastic bins.
Beginning January 16, 2021, each customer may check a total of two items, one of which may be a box/plastic bin, TO Cuba. This limit does not apply to flights FROM Cuba. Boxes, when permitted, must be factory sealed.
Each checked bag/box must not exceed 80 inches nor 70 lbs (32 kg) - oversize/overweight fees apply if larger than 62 inches or heavier than 50 lbs (23 kg).
