JetBlue Infant and Child Baggage Allowance

JetBlue Baggage Allowance for Lap Infants

Infants under 2 years old flying on a parent's lap are not eligible for any free checked baggage allowance.  The only exception is that you will be able to check-in your child's stroller and car seat free of charge, either at the check-in desk or at the gate when boarding the plane.

Young infants under 2 years old flying in their own assigned seat with a purchased ticket (not as a lap infant, but as a regular passenger) have the same baggage rules apply to them as a regular adult passenger, including any applicable checked baggage fees.  A stroller and car seat may still be checked-in free of charge, and do not count toward the checked baggage allowance. When flying with a lap infant, a diaper bag is permitted in addition to your regular carry-on and personal item allowance (please keep in mind that Blue Basic fares do not allow a carry-on item, only a personal item).  Breastpumps do not count toward your carry-on allowance, as they are considered an "assistive device".

JetBlue Child Baggage Allowance

All children older than 2 years old must fly in their own assigned seat, and may not fly on a parent's lap.  The standard checked baggage rules and allowances apply for their purchased fare type, as well as any applicable checked baggage fees.  The only exception is that a car seat and stroller may be checked-in free of charge, and not count toward the baggage allowance.  The stroller and car seat may be checked in either at the ticket counter together with the regular suitcases, or at the jetbridge when boarding the airplane.

An FAA-approved car seat may be brought into the cabin for your child to sit in if it meets the FAA's safety requirements for use in an aircraft.  Unfortunately, not all car seats meet these requirements, so be sure to check whether your car seat is certified for us in an airplane.  The label on the car seat must read "This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft".
