Air Canada Infant and Child Baggage Allowance
Air Canada Infant on Lap Baggage Allowance (0-2 Years Old)
All infants flying on a parent's lap (without their own seat assignment) are eligible for the same baggage fees as the adult on who's lap the child is sitting. This means that they are entitled to the same number of free checked bags, if any, and the same baggage fees as for an adult will apply. In addition, the infant is entitled to bring free of charge a maximum of 2 of the 3 following items:
- 1 stroller (to be checked at the boarding gate or at the check-in desk)
- 1 car seat or booster seat
- 1 playpen

An infant flying on your lap on Air Canada is not entitled to their own carry-on allowance, but you may bring an additional standard-sized carry-on item (55 x 23 x 40 cm) with your child's belongings into the cabin.
Air Canada Child Baggage Allowance (0-11 Years Old)
All children with their own purchased seat (whether infants 0-2 years old or children 2-11 years old) flying on Air Canada are entitled to the regular adult checked baggage allowane for their fare type and route/destination. This means that the same number of free checked bags apply, if any, and the same baggage fees as for an adult apply.
In addition, all children less than 11 years old may bring free of charge a car seat (either checked in as luggage, or into the cabin to be used during flight if meeting the safety certifications for use in flight) and stroller (to be checked in either at the desk or brought to the gate), or a playpen. A maximum of 2 of these 3 items are allowed to be checked-in free of charge.
Children with their own seats are entitled to the regular carry-on allowance of 1 standard-sized item (55 x 23 x 40 cm) and 1 personal item (33 x 16 x 43 cm), and there is no additional/special carry-on allowance for children flying on Air Canada.
