Babies and Toddlers under 2 years old flying on their parent's lap (without their own ticket/assigned seat) are not eligible for a free checked baggage allowance on Westjet. However, you are able to check-in a car seat and stroller free of charge. You can choose to do so at the check-in desk or at the gate. A baby playpen may be substituted for one of these 2 items (checked-in at desk).
You may also bring a diaper bag with your baby's items into the cabin in addition to your standard carry-on baggage allowance.

Your baby has a hand luggage allowance of one diaper bag with only your baby's items when flying on the parent's lap on Westjet flights.
Baby (0-2 Years Old) With Own Seat / Ticket Baggage Allowance on Westjet
If you have purchased a seat for your baby, the regular Westjet checked baggage rules apply, the same as for an adult ticket. In addition, you are able to check-in a stroller free of charge.
Your baby's car seat will be coming into the cabin with you. You are responsible for providing a Transport Canada / FAA-Approved Car Seat for your baby on Westjet flights - Westjet does not provide car seats.
You may also bring a diaper bag into the cabin on your Westjet flight, in addition to the standard carry-on baggage allowance.
Child (2-14 Years Old) with Own Seat Baggage Allowance on Westjet
All children over 2 years old must travel with their own ticket in their own seat. Westjet's regular adult Checked Baggage rules apply for all children with their own seat. You may choose to check-in your child's stroller and car seat free of charge, or bring the car seat into the cabin for your child to sit in, if it is Transport Canada / FAA Approved.
