Flying with a Wedding Dress on Air Transat

Bringing a Wedding Dress into the Cabin on Air Transat Flights

Air Transat allows you to bring your wedding dress into the cabin free of charge, in addition to your regular carry-on item.

Your wedding dress should be packed into a non-rigid garment bag, with maximum dimensions 135 x 60 cm (53 x 23.5 inches).  [AMZ asins='B07N7KY1Q8,B07V91437Y,B08LMYP6T8,B09TRCCPCB']

Air Transat does not have storage closets to hang your wedding dress, so you will have to place it into the overhead bin.  Either roll it up gently and place it into the overhead bin (or use a tri-fold garment bag that gently folds up into a carry-on sized bag), or wait until the overhead bins are full and lay your dress out flat over top of the suitcases.

When arriving at your destination, your dress is bound to be wrinkled - we recommend packing a hand-held travel steamer to steam your dress and get rid of the wrinkles before your big day.

You may bring a maximum of 1 wedding dress into the cabin free of charge.

Always bring your wedding dress with you into the cabin, rather than in your checked luggage, so that it doesn't get lost in transit before your big day.  Pack your shoes, jewellery, and accessories into your carry-on bag as well.

Bringing a Bridesmaid's Dress On Air Transat Flights

You should always take your bridesmaid's dress with you as a carry-on item when flying on Air Transat to a destination wedding.  You do not want to risk your dress getting lost in transit, and not being able to stand beside the bride on her big day.

You can bring your bridesmaid's dress packed into your carry-on suitcase and placed into the overhead bin.  Pack a steamer to get rid of the wrinkles once you arrive at the wedding destination.

Packing a Steamer on Air Transat Flights

You can bring a steamer on your Air Transat flight as part of your carry-on allowance, as long it does not have any liquid left inside - otherwise you will have to pack your steamer into your checked luggage.
