Ryanair Checked Baggage Fees 2023
Ryanair has increased the cost of checked bags for 2023. Keep in mind it is always cheaper to plan ahead and to buy your baggage allowance when making your initial booking, rather than adding bags to your booking afterward or paying for them at the airport (most expensive). You may bring up to a maximum of 3 bags. You may choose whether you will bring a 10 kg bag or 20 kg bag.

The rate you will be charged depends on your flight route and dates, which you will see online when making a booking or in your Manage Bookings page. For 2023, please note that the discounted rate is only available while making your original booking on the Ryanair website - if you are adding a bag later on to an existing reservation, you will be charged the higher "at airport" rate. Rates are per person, per bag, per route. [AMZ asins='B00LB7REFK,B082K8ZNQ1,B07ZWLQF9T,B00NW62PCA']

10kg Checked Bag - starting from 12.99-35.99 EUR/GBP during booking, depending on route - up to 45.99 EUR/GBP later or at airport check-in.
20kg Checked Bag - from 17.99 - 59.99 EUR/GBP during booking, depending on the route and travel dates. Prices go up if when purchased later online, via the call centre, at airport ticket desks, during peak travel periods, and on select routes. 69 EUR/GBP at the airport check-in desk.
Excess weight per kilo - 9-11 EUR/GBP per Kilo (can be purchased online up to 2 hours before departure - 11 GBP/EUR per Kilo when paying at the airport)

Please note that the 20kg Checked Baggage fee varies depending on the route and travel dates selected. A supplement on price during peak travel periods, such as Christmas/Easter/Summer will be charged. Max weight allowed is 20kg, before incurring the overweight fee per KG.

You may now purchase an excess weight allowance ahead of time by adding it to your booking online (up to 2 hours before your flight), at a rate of 9 GBP/EUR per KG - this is cheaper than the 11 GBP/EUR per KG that you will be charged at the airport.

Higher baggage fees apply when checked bags are purchased via a Ryanair call centre, at airport ticket desks, during peak periods and on selected routes.

Pooling of Baggage on Ryanair
A recent change from Ryanair is that now the pooling or sharing of purchased checked baggage allowances is permitted with others included on the same flight reservation when checking in together. This means that if there are 2 people travelling on the same reservation, with each passenger having bought a 20 kg allowance, the total weight allowance can be split unevenly among the bags - for example one bag weighing 25 kg, and the second bag weighing 15 kg. Keep in mind that no individual bag may weigh more than 32 kg.
