Ryanair has recently updated it's carry-on baggage policies for 2023, so please read carefully to understand the new rules.

Ryanair only allows you to bring 1 small bag up to 40 x 20 x 25 cm free of charge. If you bring a 2nd bag to the gate, or if your first small bag is too large/oversized, you will be charged a fee of 45.99 GBP/EUR to gate-check the bag (it will be sent to the hold of the plane). If you would like to bring more baggage as carry-on, your only option is to upgrade for "Priority Boarding" ahead of time, which allows you to bring a 2nd carry-on bag.

Option 1: Upgrade to "Priority Boarding", for a fee of between 6.00 - 35.99 GBP/EUR per flight, which entitles you to a 2nd carry-on bag (max weight 10 kg, max size 55 x 40 x 20 cm), in addition to the free small bag allowance.

If flying with only a little of luggage and don't need a full suitcase, you still have the option to purchase a small 10 kg checked bag allowance for a fee between 12-25 GBP/EUR if adding it to your reservation while making your original booking - otherwise, it will cost you 24-46 GBP/EUR when adding to your reservation later on or paying at the airport. This is the same as checking in a regular suitcase, just a lower weight limit and much cheaper. Keep in mind you will not have access to this bag while on the plane.

Flying with Infants on Ryanair
There is no cabin bag allowance for an infant (aged 8 days to 23 months) travelling on an adult’s lap; however a baby bag up to 5kg may be carried by the accompanying adult in addition to their own cabin bag allowance

* A baby bag up to 5kg may be carried by the accompanying adult in addition to their own cabin bag allowance when an infant (aged 8 days to 23 months) is travelling on an adult’s lap.

You may also bring 2 items of baby equipment free of charge, per child.

Musical Instruments
Smaller musical items such as a guitar, violin or viola which exceed our cabin baggage dimensions may be carried in the cabin if a seat for it has been reserved and the appropriate fare paid. There is no checked or cabin baggage allowance associated with the purchase of an extra seat.

Extra Seats
To book an extra seat for an item the word "ITEM SEAT" must be entered as the surname and "EXTRA" must be entered at the first name. EXTRA ITEM SEAT will then be displayed on the reservation and online boarding pass. The accompanying passenger's travel document details must be entered during the online check- in process. Spanish Resident and Large Family Discount is not applicable on EXTRA seats.

Reserved seating in emergency rows 1,16 and 17 may not be purchased if you have purchased an extra seat for item/comfort/broken leg.
