MOBILITY AID SPECIFICATIONS

Mobility Aids such as wheelchairs cannot be larger than 123 cm x 79 cm (48” x 31”) due to the size of the aircraft cargo hold. They must be able to be turned on its side or tilted; if your wheelchair cannot be turned on its side, it will not be accepted for transport. Battery operated wheelchairs and scooters with non-spillable gel or dry-cell batteries must have the terminals disconnected and taped.

CHECKING IN YOUR WHEELCHAIR ON SUNWING FLIGHTS

Please arrive at the airport a minimum of 3 hours before your flight's departure time when checking-in a wheelchair or mobility aid.

All parts of the wheelchair will need to be properly packaged and prepared to be checked in, and all removable items such as pillows, cushions, footrests, etc should be brought with you.

Many countries outside of Canada (such as Cuba) require that you check in your wheelchair at the check-in counter before the aid is subject to security and X-ray screening. This means that you will not be able to use your own wheelchair through the airport, and you airport will provide a mobility device for you to use before your flight.

Your wheelchair will be returned to you upon arrival without delay, either when exiting the aircraft, or at the baggage claim.  If nececssary, and airport wheelchair will be provided.
