Flying with Babies and Kids on Sunwing

Family Seating on Sunwing Flights

Sunwing will make attempts to seat young children (under the age of 14) together with at least one parent, however the only way to ensure that your family is seated together is by paying to select your seats when making your reservation.

Priority Boarding for Families with Children on Sunwing Flights

Families flying with babies, infants, or young children will be offered priority boarding to get onto the airplane and settled in earlier before main boarding begins. This will give you some extra time to get settled into your seats when boarding your flights. [AMZ asins='B00RXW8CVC,B000RRD7UG,B07MZFD26C,B00TSL2UJ6']

Travelling with an Infant on Sunwing Flights

Sunwing defines infants as less than 2 years of age.  All babies must be at least 7 days old before flying on a Sunwing flight.  You may choose to fly with your infant held on your lap for the duration of the flight, or choose to purchase a separate seat for your infant in which case they can fly in their government-approved car seat, which is the safest way for a baby to fly.  Please be sure that the car seat meets government mandated safety and labeling requirements for use on an airplane.

The car seat must be approved by the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) with the sticker CMVSS 213 or 213.1 and must have been manufactured after 1981. If you car seat is built to US motor vehicle safety standards, it must inlude BOTH of the following 2 labels: "This child restraint system conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards" and "This Restraint is Certified for Use in Motor Vehicles and Aircraft".  Sunwing staff will check to confirm that the car seat meets these labeling requirements, and will not allow the car seat to be used during the flight if it does not meet these requirements.

Baby Bassinets on Sunwing Flights

Sunwing does NOT offer baby bassinets on any of its airplanes.

Inflight Services for Infants on Sunwing Flights

Sunwing flight attendants may warm a baby's bottle and foods on board the flight, as long as the baby food is in a sealed and unopened jar.  You must provide food for your baby, as Sunwing does not carry infant meals or baby milk on its flight. You can pack baby food and baby equipment into your carry-on baggage.

Please note that Sunwing can warm a baby's bottle and food, but they are not able to sterilize bottles or to provide sterilized water.

We offer bottle warming and baby food warming facilities on board, provided that the baby food is unopened and in a sealed jar. Please note that we do not carry infant meals or baby milk on board.
