EasyJet Wheelchair Policy and Special Assistance Guide

Flying With Your Wheelchair on EasyJet

To make sure that you have the easiest possible trip, EasyJet recommends that you add your request for special assistance when you book your flight. If your circumstances change and you need to update your booking to add your wheelchair or mobility device, you can do so by contacting the special assistance team or by logging in to “manage bookings” on easyjet.com. EasyJet does recommend you request assistance at minimum 48 hours before your flight.

When booking, if you are travelling with an electric or battery operated wheelchair, EasyJet requests the following information in order to determine suitability for transport: [AMZ asins='B07YNFD9LJ,B01L28ANI2,B074MW1MTW,B00RKJUPS6']

Dimensions of wheelchair, in metric (length, height, and width)

Weight (in Kg)

Battery type (in Watt/h)

Details on how to safely transport the battery

Wheelchair Size Limits on EasyJet

For manual and folding wheelchairs, EasyJet does not impose a weight limit, but your wheelchair must fit through the cargo door of their aircraft. This means your wheelchair must not exceed 1.7 meters by 1.22 meters (67” by 48”). EasyJet recommends that you take any removable parts, such as footrests or cushions, with you into the cabin

Battery Operated Mobility Aids on EasyJet

EasyJet accepts only dry-cell/gel and lithium-ion batteries. They can remain attached to the wheelchair during travel, but the power must be off and the batteries disengaged. Battery circuits must be isolated or protected from short-circuit or accidental activation.

Requesting Wheelchair Assistance at the Airport When Flying with EasyJet

EasyJet will relay your need for assistance to the local teams at the airports that you are flying through. They recommend you arrive at least two hours before your scheduled departure and locate the Special Assistance desk when you arrive.
