Flying with a Wedding Dress on Contour Airlines

Bringing your Wedding Dress in a Garment Bag on Contour Airlines

Contour Airlines will accept your wedding dress into the cabin, and it will count toward your carry-on allowance as your carry-on item/suitcase.  Your dress can be packed in a garment bag which you can ask to be hung up in the flight attendant's closet or in the back of the plane, depending on how full the flight is.

If your dress cannot be hung up in the closet, either beause it is full or the plane doesn't have a closet, your best option is to lay your dress out flat on top of the other suitcases in the overhead bin.  [AMZ asins='B07N7KY1Q8,B07V91437Y,B08LMYP6T8,B09TRCCPCB']

Alternatively, you can consider getting your wedding dress professionally packed into a standard carry-on sized suitcase that you can bring with you onto the plane.  The suitcase must be no larger than 22 x 14 x 9 inches.

Even though Contour Airlines still offers a free checked bag, we do not recommend packing your wedding dress into your checked luggage, just in case it gets lost in transit before your wedding day.  Always bring your wedding dress with you into the cabin, along with the shoes, jewellery, and other wedding day essentials that you can not risk getting lost.

Bringing a Steamer on Contour Airlines

TSA Regulations allow you to bring a fabric steamer with you on the plane - this is highly recommended, as your dress is bound to arrive wrinkled after its travels.  You can pack a travel steamer either into your carry-on bag (as long as there is no liquid left inside, so you can bring it through the TSA Security Checkpoint), or into your regular checked suitcase.

Flying with a Bridesmaid Dress on Contour Airlines

You can fly with your bridesmaid dress on Contour Airlines by either packing it into your regular carry-on suitcase (max size 22 x 14 x 9 inches), or in a garment bag that you can ask to get hung up in the flight attendant's closet when boarding the plane.  If your dress cannot be hung up in the closet, the best option is to lay it out flat in the overhead bin, on top of the other suitcases so that it doesn't get crushed by other passengers loading the bags into the overhead bin.
