Musical Instruments in the Cabin on TAP Portugal Flights

You can book an extra seat for your musical instrument on TAP Portugal flights.  The weight limit of the instrument is 75 KG / 165 lbs.  To book the transportation of musical instruments in the cabin, you must contact the TAP Portugal Contact Center at least 72 hours before your flight to ensure the proper packaging of your musical instrument. In certain situations, if the musical instrument is large, you may need to book more than one extra seat. For safety reasons, the airline will decide what is required. 

Musical Instruments as Checked Baggage with TAP Portugal

Your musical instrument may exceed the checked baggage weight allowance, in which case you will be charged an additional fee. The instrument is limited in weight to 45 KG / 100 lbs (32 kg / 70 lbs on flights to/from/via USA, Hungary, France, United Kingdom or the Netherlands). Maximum dimensions are 190 cm x 75 cm x 65 cm (75 in x 30 in x 26 in).

We recommend that you check the weight and measurement limits for transport in the hold when you make your reservation or at least 24 hours before the flight.
