Qatar Airways Kiteboard Fees

Qatar Airways accepts kitesurfing equipment free of charge as part of your regular free checked baggage allowance, in place of a regular suitcase.

Your kite gear is limited to a maximum weight of 23 kg / 50 lbs. Exceeding this weight limit will incur standard Overweight Baggage fees. [AMZ asins='B01BN1W5G6,B01465RK8E,B00NIYJF6U,B003EBV7XG']

If your kite gear is in addition to your free checked bag allowance, you have the option to prepay for it online at a discounted Sports Equipment rate. Be sure to do this, as it is only available online before your flight, and not available at the airport on the day of departure.

If showing up at the airport check-in with your kite gear without prepaying, you will be charged the higher Airport Excess Baggage rates for regular baggage, which can get VERY expensive.
