Flying With Your Wheelchair on Emirates Airlines

Emirates Airlines is happy to assist you with your travel, should you need a wheelchair in the airport or if you’re travelling with your own. They recommend that you let them know what kind of assistance you need when you book, but if you need to add your request later they strongly recommend giving at least 48 hours notice before your scheduled departure.

Wheelchair Size Limits on Emirates Airlines

Emirates will check your wheelchair before you fly to see if it will be able to be carried in the aircraft cabin. If not, they will check your wheelchair for you, depending on size and weight. Battery Operated Mobility Aids on Emirates Airlines

As there are extra regulations surrounding the transport of batteries, Emirates requires that you let them know the specifics of your wheelchair or mobility aid ahead of time. This includes the battery type, the size of your wheelchair, and the weight of your wheelchair.

Requesting Wheelchair Assistance at the Airport when Flying with Emirates

Emirates will provide you assistance through the airport from terminal entrance to flight, and once you land from the aircraft to the baggage claim, where you will be able to reclaim your personal mobility device. 

Other Mobility Aids (Canes, Crutches, Walkers) on Emirates Airlines

Other mobility aids such as canes, crutches, or walking sticks are welcome on board Emirates flights. Cabin crew will help you ensure that your device is stowed safely for transport.
