Emirates Overweight Baggage Fee 2023 - Extra Bag Fee - Oversize Baggage

Generally, the amount of baggage you can check is based on weight or number of bags. If you go over this baggage allowance, you usually have to pay an excess baggage charge.

Emirates Excess Baggage Fees for Weight Concept (all routes except to/from Americas and from Africa)
Additional baggage is charged on a per KG basis, and may add up quickly. Be careful when packing so as not to exceed your weight allowance.

If you do know that you will be travelling with overweight baggage, it is cheaper to purchase online ahead of time, available in 5kg increments up to a maximum of 25 kg. You will receive a 50% discount on the first 5 kg, and 20% discount on the rest.

Oversize charge is for bags larger than 150 cm linear dimensions (L+W+H). All bags are limited in size to 300cm linear dimensions, with no exceptions.

Musical Instruments
Emirates is unable to provide a special free baggage allowance for the carriage of musical instruments. Musical instruments must be handled as normal checked or cabin baggage (subject to cabin baggage limitations) or be transported on a paid-for seat in the passenger cabin.
