Is your suitcase a couple of kilos too heavy? You’ll need to pay an excess weight fee at the airport.
Tip: In most cases it is cheaper to reserve and pay for an extra suitcase (of up to 23 kg allowance) online than to pay the excess weight fee that you will be charged if your bags weighs more than 23 kg / 50 lbs. For most flights within Europe, your overweight bag will be charged a fee of 70-200 EUR, and between 75-300 EUR on international flights. This may vary depending on your specific route.
When flying with more bags, it is possible to purchase additional bags online, at a 20% or more discount relative to the price you will pay for excess baggage at the airport.
The maximum number of bags that can be checked in by one passenger is 10 bags. If you are planning to bring even more, you will have to send those bags via KLM Cargo.
