You are therefore encouraged to book your luggage requirements online at the time of making your flight booking to enjoy the lowest rates, as doing so at the airport will cost more.

Infants
Infants are not entitled to baggage allowance. Infant equipment, including but not limited to prams, buggies and car seats can be carried in the hold of the aircraft. Tiger Airways is prepared to carry such items on a 'Limited Release' (i.e. entirely 'at your own risk' for damage or delay) basis for free. You may therefore wish to ensure that you have suitable private insurance cover in force for such items.

Sporting Equipment
Items of sporting equipment including but not limited to large fishing rods, golf clubs, bicycles, scooters, surfboards, body-boards, snowboards and skis can be carried in the hold of the aircraft subject to space being available. Upon payment of an additional charge of AUD 60 (or local currency equivalent) per item, per sector (flight) irrespective of weight, Tiger Airways is prepared to carry such items on a 'limited release' (i.e. entirely 'at your own risk' for damage or delay) basis. You may therefore wish to ensure that you have suitable private insurance cover in force for such items. If the fee is not paid on your outbound journey it will still be imposed on your return journey.

Musical Instruments
Instruments to be carried as cabin baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 30 x 117 x 38 cm. Instruments within this category include bugle, clarinet, flute, piccolo, trumpet, violin or viola and will form part of your free cabin baggage allowance. Such items are accepted for carriage by Tiger Airways entirely at the passenger's own risk.
Any instrument exceeding the above dimensions must either be checked into the hold or an extra seat may be reserved and the appropriate fare paid.
If you wish to purchase an adjacent seat for your instrument, you may do so by contacting our call center directly. The extra seat will be charged at the lowest available rate at the time of making the reservation.
There is no additional carry-on or checked baggage allowance associated with purchasing an extra seat.

Please note: If an extra seat for your oversized musical instrument is reserved, you are required to bring your own restraint(s) for your instrument as Tiger Airways is not able to provide the necessary restraint(s). Failure to do so may mean your oversized musical instrument being carried in the hold of the aircraft as your safety and that of our other passengers are of our utmost priority.

For safety reasons Tiger Airways reserves the right to not accept any individual item exceeding 30 kilos.

Mobility aids and wheelchairs
Passengers' own wheelchairs will be carried free of charge, in addition to their normal baggage allowance, but must be checked in.

Wheelchairs that are powered by sealed, non-spillable batteries are accepted for carriage. Wheelchairs with un-sealed, spillable batteries will not be accepted.
All powered wheelchairs must be checked through and comply with relevant battery connection/disconnection requirements.

You must advise us whether you are able to board using steps or whether you require a wheelchair from check-in to the aircraft.

For Australia, we are able to provide a manual wheelchair to convey you from check-in to the aircraft, at which point a lifting device will be available, if previously requested (in the absence of an aero-bridge). Our crew can then assist in transferring you to an aisle wheelchair and from an aisle wheelchair to your seat. At your destination we will similarly transfer you from your seat and supply a lifting device and manual wheelchair for disembarkation, if previously arranged. Your wheelchair will then be delivered to you at the baggage collection point.

Our crews' ability to assist is subject to compliance with mandated Occupational Health and Safety Regulations in Australia as to the maximum permissible weight of a passenger for lifting (130kgs) and the mobility status of the passenger (e.g. a full lift of a passenger compared to passengers able to partially lift themselves, and whether assistance is available from a carer if applicable).

For Tiger Singapore flights, there will be a charge for assistance in respect of wheelchair and other services required from check in to embarkation if previously requested. There may be local unavailability of a lifting device or weight restrictions applicable to the use of devices and the ability of our crew to provide direct lifting assistance. Fees may be applicable for some devices.

We also have an upper torso harness available on our Australian flights, subject to usage restrictions, and prior booking.
