SWISS Airlines allows passengers to bring both a standard piece of carry-on baggage / hand luggage, such as a standard carry-on suitcase, plus a smaller personal item/accessory, such as a handbag, laptop bag, or shoulder bag, which must be placed under the seat in front of you.

The maximum dimensions for the carry-on suitcase are 55 x 40 x 23 cm, and a maximum weight of 8 Kg. This can be substituted for a garment bag with maximum dimensions of 57 x 54 x 15 cm . [AMZ asins='B00LB7REFK,B082K8ZNQ1,B07ZWLQF9T,B00NW62PCA']

The maximum dimensions for the personal item/handbag are 40 x 30 x 10 cm.

SWISS Business and SWISS First Class passengers may bring 2 x Carry-On Bags of 55 x 40 x 23 cm (Max weight 8 kg each) plus your personal/accessory item.

If your hand baggage is larger or heavier than the allowed dimensions, SWISS Airlines will have to check it in at the gate, and you will be charged an extra fee for the service. The fee is much higher at the gate than if you were to purchase the checked luggage allowance ahead of time.
