SunExpress Checked Baggage Fees 2011 - Checked Bag Weight & Size Limits

In the context of the free baggage allowance SunExpress carries 20 kg of baggage per passenger on international flights in addition to one carry-on item weighing up to 6 kg maximum.

As of 1st February 2011 SunExpress will reintroduce the free baggage allowance of 30 kg for extended stays on international flights. This regulation is applicable for all "Cranepax" (own SunExpress reservation sistem) bookings as of 1st February 2011 with an extended stay of at least 29 nights in the destination. The outbound flight as well as the return flight have to be booked as one single ticket. The free baggage allowance of 30 kg is not applicable if the outgoing flight and the return flight are booked as separate tickets. Unfortunately, bookings made prior to 1st February 2011 can not be considered. In case there should be no confirmation for the check-in the published charges for excess baggage will apply. Infants under 2 years of age have a free baggage allowance of 10 kg. Prams/buggies, children's travel cots and car seats are carried additionally in the hold and without charge.

For the safety and comfort of our passengers only one carry-on item per passenger is allowed in the cabin, weighing up to a maximum of 6 kg. For all additional pieces of baggage an excess baggage rate of 10.- Euro per kg per way is charged. We ask all passengers to clearly mark their baggage with name, home and vacation address.

The baggage allowance per adult and children on flights within Turkey is 15 kg. Infants do not have baggage allowance. An excess baggage fee of 6.- TL/kg for Erzurum, Trabzon, Kars, Diyarbakir, Van and Mardin routes and a fee of 4.- TL/kg for the other domestic routes is charged per flight.

Loss of or damage to baggage must be declared immediately following the discovery of damage to the handling personnel responsible at the airport. As all airlines' liability for checked baggage is limited, important items should be transported in carry-on luggage. In any case, taking out additional baggage insurance is recommended.
