If you are travelling your entire journey on Gulf Air Operated flights, Gulf Air now offers new excess baggage charges per kilo, dependant on the 'zone' of your origin and destination within the entire Gulf Air network. If you are travelling with other airlines on your Gulf Air ticket, another baggage policy is applied. The below unique and competitive rates do not apply to codeshare flights operated by partner airlines, interline itineraries with other airline in combination with Gulf Air or flights to and from USA & Canada.
For example
Flying from London to Delhi with 7 kgs of Excess baggage would cost (20+9)=29 USD per kilo, times 7kgs = 203 USD in total excess baggage fee.
Flying from London to Hanoi via Bahrain on Gulf Air and from Bangkok onward with Thai Airways:
10Kgs of excess baggage would cost (20+20) = 40 USD per kilo, times 10 = 400 USD in total excess baggage fee.
Rates per 1 kg
As an alternative, if your journey starts from Bahrain or London, you now have the option to pay for your excess baggage using Gulf Air Falconflyer miles in multiples of 5 kg.
Miles per 5 kg
Note that miles can be used in 5 kg blocks only and no residual miles can be credited back. For example if you choose to use your miles to pay for 3 kg excess baggage from Bahrain to Muscat, you will need to redeem a 5 kg miles block for 1000 FFP miles.

Pets
When you want to transport your pet, you can rest assured that we will take the very best care of them. Pets are not accepted as carry-on (in cabin) or checked baggage on any Gulf Air flight and must be booked to travel with Gulf Air Cargo, and they will be carried in the aircraft hold. Elderly passengers:
Wheelchairs can be arranged for elderly passengers who have difficulty negotiating long distances at airport terminals.
Gulf Air will provide escorts for elderly passengers who might need special attention during boarding, on arrival, or inflight.
When making a reservation for travel, please give ticketing staff as much information as possible about the elderly traveller, in order that we can make arrangements for assistance where needed, particularly if they are travelling alone or for the first time.
Passengers requiring an extra seat:
In certain circumstances, a passenger may request an extra seat for his/her personal comfort or to carry cabin baggage. In the case of an over-sized passenger, they must either pay for an additional seat in Economy Class, or travel in the Falcon Gold cabin where seats are more roomy.
Sporting equipment and Musical Instruments
Gulf Air has the pleasure to carry your sporting equipment and musical instruments as part of your free baggage allowance. Normal excess baggage charges will apply if you exceed your free baggage allowance. Each item must not exceed the maximum single piece weight of 32 kg and the following maximum dimensions 190 cm (79in) x 75 cm (29.5in) x 65 cm (25.5in).
Musical Instruments should be packed in a purpose designed travel bag and adequately protected.
Gulf Air will make every effort to accommodate your sporting equipment and musical instruments. However, on very rare occasions, due to operating restrictions, it may not be possible to operate this on the day. You can always contact us for Pre-travel Query.
