Alaska Airlines Kayaks Policy

Kayaks will be accepted as checked luggage on Alaska Airlines, subject to the following restrictions. Regular checked baggage fees apply.

Kayaks that exceed 62 linear inches or 50lbs are subject to standard overweight ($75) and oversize ($75) charges with maximum dimensions of 115 linear inches and maximum weight of 100lbs. One set of kayak paddles may be included in this charge and must be securely taped to the kayak or boxed.

Alaska does not provide paddle boxes at the counter. Only kayaks of polyethylene construction are acceptable. Kayaks of glass construction are not accepted. Kayaks are not accepted on AS flights 2000-2999 and 344 0-3499.

Glass kayaks are not accepted on Alaska Airlines flights.
