Iberia Group Flights (Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum)
The Iberia Regional Air Nostrum aircrafts are smaller so there may be some limitations as to what you can take with you in the cabin. In this case, your luggage would be placed in the luggage hold and be able for you to collect upon arrival.
Sometimes, in high-occupancy flights, if there is not enough space in the cabin, carry-on baggage may travel in the hold at no extra cost to the passenger.
Anyone of the personal items given below is allowed apart from hand luggage

These pieces should fit in the size-check device located at the airports.
At the boarding gate, any carry-on baggage (or accessories) that does not comply with this regulation, in other words, that exceeds the amount and/or measurements shown above, will be removed and stowed in the aircraft hold at an additional cost of 35 per case each way.
IB5000 passengers who have not checked in any piece of luggage but whose hand luggage has to be withdrawn at the boarding gate, are exempt of this 35euros charge.
This measure applies to all IB5000 passengers who have previously checked-in the hold baggage item they are entitled to as excess allowance. If the ib5000 passenger has no checked-in baggage, the hand baggage that must be removed at the boarding gate will be exempt from the 35 payment.

Travelling with connecting flights and/or flights with another airline
Please remember that each airline establishes an allowance that passengers can carry on their flights at no extra charge and in accordance with the weight, dimension, contents and conditions of each company. You can find the details of the airline that operates your flight at bookings management. Check with the operator to confirm your baggage allowance and other restrictions.
The allowance that is best for the customer with an Iberia ticket directly to the final destination will be applied, even if the flight involves various connecting legs. If you are travelling with different tickets, the corresponding allowance for each separate one will apply.
If you are travelling on an IB5XXX flight with an Iberia or Iberia Regional connecting flight, the Iberia baggage carriage conditions will apply throughout the whole of the journey to your destination, both in terms of baggage allowance and excess.
If you are travelling on an IB5XXX flight and/or in transit between IB5XXX flights, the free baggage allowance will be one piece of baggage weighing 23 kg. When the weight of the piece is more than 23 kg, every kilo over will be subject to a 12 surcharge, up to a maximum of 32 kg.. The surcharge per additional piece is 70 on domestic routes and 90 on international routes and Canary, payable at the airport plus 12 per kilo of the weight of that piece.
If you are travelling to/from Algeria, the baggage allowance will be a maximum of 1 x 30kg item per passenger (Infant included).
The policy of the operator is that these surcharges for excess baggage kilos or pieces apply to each section (leg) flown and not to trips (departure-arrival airport).
If you are travelling on a code-share flight, i.e., if your flight number is in the IB-4000 or IB-7000 series, you will have the baggage allowance that appears on your ticket for each respective flight. For excess weight, excess baggage and similar, the baggage regulations of the company that operates the flight will apply.
If your ticket includes an Iberia flight and a flight of another airline, the baggage allowance of the company that operates the most significant flight will apply. If Iberia is the first company, the allowance that appears on the ticket will apply. If you have bought separate tickets with different airlines, the baggage allowance of the respective operator will apply to each ticket.
If you are flying with JetBlue (B6) between Santo Domingo and Puerto Rice (or vice versa) , remember that this company does not allow you to carry anything in the hold other than:
Passengers flying in economy class, two pieces of 23 kg each.
Passengers flying in Business class, three pieces of 23 kg each.
In no case can you carry or buy extra baggage or excess weight.
Additional baggage allowances offered by each airline will only be valid for that airlines flights.

Overweight and extra baggage fees will be charged for exceeding your baggage allowance. Flat-rate fees are applied for overweight baggage (anything from 23-32kg/50-70lbs), with prices depending on the origin and destination of your flight.
The charge for an additional item of 23kg is often the same as the overweight fee, so it is more beneficial to purchase a 2nd bag allowance, as it allows for more flexibility when packing. The extra allowance can be purchased online for a discounted rate.+ Show Full Policy
You can contract it in advance from the time you make the booking and even during online check-in.
You will enjoy a discount if you contract it before going to the airport.
Also payable directly at the airport when checking-in, but it costs more.
We suggest arriving 20 minutes before the recommended time if you are taking additional baggage.
