Carry-On Summary

One bag of carry-on is allowed per passenger, limited in size to 55x40x20cm. For Economy passengers, this bag may weigh up to 6kg/13lbs. Business Class passengers are allowed to pack up to 10kg/22lbs as their carry-on.

Checked Baggage Summary

Economy Passengers are allowed up to a maximum of 20kg to be checked in on all flights within Portugal, Europe, and Africa. If flying to/from Canada, a maximum of 50kg is allowed. As this is a "weight concept", there is no limit to the number of bags to be checked, as long as the total COMBINED weight is no more than the allowance.

Flights to/from the USA are on a "piece concept", limiting the number of bags allowed. Economy passengers are allowed 2 bags, which combined may weigh no more than 50kg/110lbs.

Excess/Oversize/Overweight Summary

All flights other than to/from the USA are on the "weight concept". SATA Airlines charges overweight baggage exceeding the prescribed allowance on a per kilogram basis: 7 EUR/kg on Domestic Routes, 15 EUR/kg on flights to/from Europe, Africa, and Canada.

Any overweight or additional bag on flights to/from the USA will be charged 150 EUR/$200. If a bag is extremely heavy (48-62kg), it will be charged 300 EUR/$400.
