Carry-On Summary

You're allowed to bring one piece of carry-on baggage on your Virgin America flight. They do not limit the weight of the carry-on, but you must be able to carry and place it into the overhead bins or under your seat.

Maximum dimensions are 10x16x24 inches.

Checked Baggage Summary

If you are travelling in the main cabin, there is a fee of $25/bag for every checked bag on all Virgin America flights. The one exception is international flights, where there is no fee for your first checked bag.

Main Cabin Refundable seats are allowed a one free bag on all flights. Main Cabin Select seats are allowed one free bag on Domestic flights, and 2 free bags on international routes. First Class and First Class Refundable seats are always allowed 2 free bags.

In all these cases, each bag is limited to a maximum of 23kg/50lbs.

Excess/Oversize/Overweight Summary

Overweight fees are charged by Virgin America if a bag weighs more than 50lbs. A $50 fee applies if weighing between 51-70lbs, and $100 if between 71-100lbs.

Overweight fees are over and on top of any additional baggage fees.

No bag may weigh more than 100lbs, you will be asked to repack at the check-in desk.
