Perishables and Food
It is important to keep in mind that all perishables and foodstuff, like fish, crustaceans, and other seafood, fresh or frozen, must be placed in leak-proof packaging, so as to avoid accidental exposure or foul smell.
Note that if you are transporting this sort of material, you must place it in leak-proof plastic bags. Next, this bag should be placed in a styrofoam container, also lined in resistant plastic.
If you are transporting ice, it must be either gel or in individually packaged in completely sealed, airtight, plastic bags. If the packaging is inadequate and may possibly damage the aircraft, or other passengersí baggage, GOL can refuse to transport the product. Therefore, follow the instructions and prepare everything correctly so as to avoid surprises.
Clients who want to transport plants on GOL flights need to plan ahead. If you are transporting such materials, consult the competent authorities in advance and check whether authorization documents must be issued to transport your cargo. Check the guidelines in the table below.
If you are transporting plants as carryon please keep in mind:
If they are in vases, you will have to take measures to prevent water, soil, or other item from spilling.
There is no specific compartment onboard to accommodate plants. Therefore, you should keep the plant with you during the entire flight. Note that this may cause some discomfort.
Use common sense when transporting plants that exude a scent so as not to disturb other passengers.
Passengers on international flights and those going through international airports (flight numbers usually starting with 7), even if in domestic segments, should follow the rules established by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) on transportation of liquids in carryon.
On such flights, to transport liquids like gel, toothpaste, lotion, aerosol, and similar items you should:
Make sure that the liquid is in a container of up to 100ml (3.4 oz). Containers larger than 100 ml (3.4 oz) cannot be transported, even if they contain the stipulated quantity.
Package the container appropriately and loosely inside a clear, sealed, plastic bag, of up to 1 L (34 oz) and 20 cm x 20 cm (8 in x 8 in).
Present the bag for inspection as you come to the X-Ray screening in the boarding area. Present it separate from carryon, laptop, and clothes.
Respect the limit of one bag per passenger. Thus, if you need to transport more liquid products, place them in your checked bags.
Keep receipts of liquids purchased at well-known stores like Duty-Free at international airports and show them with the boarding pass. In addition, the liquids should be placed in sealed plastic bags.
Small musical instruments can be taken on board as carry-on baggage.
