Flying with Musical Instruments on Brussels Airlines

Instruments as Carry-On Cabin Baggage on Brussels Airlines

Small instruments (e.g. violin) may be carried in the cabin, as part of your free hand baggage allowance, provided they fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. [AMZ asins='B0CMR5YLMN,B01BGX82G8,B083TJQ1XN,B000T07XFG']

This means that your instrument counts as 1 piece of hand baggage. In certain travel classes, this means that your instrument is the only hand baggage (next to a small accessory) that you're allowed to bring on board.

Instruments in Individual Seats on Brussels Airlines

If you wish to take a music instrument with you in the cabin that does not fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you (e.g. guitar, cello), an extra seat is required. For the extra seat you will be charged the fare excluding taxes. Please book via the online Service Centre for both your seat and the extra seat for your instrument.

Instruments as Checked Baggage on Brussels Airlines

Big instruments (e.g. contrabass) need to be transported in the hold. Contact the Brussels Airlines Service Centre for more information on traveling with music instruments.
